Objective
This project is dedicated to promoting art, celebrating cultural diversity, and fostering community integration through vibrant festivals and educational workshops.
Description
Founded in September 1989, the Agnieszka Osiecka Atelier Theater has been a steadfast advocate for strengthening Polish-German-Jewish relations. Conceived by its founder and artistic visionary, André Hübner-Ochodlo, the Atelier has cultivated a distinctive brand and unique atmosphere over its three decades. It has become a renowned and cherished cultural venue, securing its place among Poland’s most distinguished theaters.
As part of the Sopot Theater Summer, Atelier hosts two dynamic festivals, each paired with educational workshops for young artists and engaged audiences:
The flagship festival, “Let’s Remember About Osiecka”, pays tribute to the theater’s patron, Agnieszka Osiecka. During this week-long celebration, young participants immerse themselves in music workshops, gaining insights and experience in interpreting Osiecka’s songs. Under the expert guidance of Artistic Director Jerzy Satanowski, they refine their craft, infusing new interpretations into contemporary arrangements of Osiecka’s iconic songs.
The second festival, „International Meetings of Jewish Culture”, also unfolds during the Sopot Theater Summer. Here, audiences are introduced to the work of artists and ensembles from around the globe. In addition, various workshops allow attendees to deepen their understanding of Yiddish culture, offering hands- on experiences that bridge cultures and generations.
