24 Aug Interpenetration – A Dialogue Between Master and Students
Beneficiary
Recipients of the Professor Jacek Żuławski Award and students of Professor Maciej Świeszewski’s Painting Studio.
Objective
To promote the creative dialogue between master and students while fostering the visibility of early-career artists and intergenerational artistic exchange.
Description
“Interpenetration” is an artistic project by Professor Maciej Świeszewski, supported by Fondation Amani. The exhibition was presented in two editions: at the Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz Theatre in Zakopane and at the Stanisław Szukalski Museum in Gdynia. Bringing together works by the professor, recipients of the Professor Jacek Żuławski Award, and students from his studio, the project explores the relationship between master and student as a process of mutual inspiration, exchange of knowledge and experience, and artistic development.
Zakopane
The first edition of the exhibition opened on 28 February 2026 at the Witkacy Theatre in Zakopane. By presenting Professor Maciej Świeszewski’s paintings alongside works by his students and graduates, the exhibition demonstrated that artistic education is built on a dialogue between the mentor’s experience and the individual creative language of emerging artists.
Gdynia
The second edition, “Interpenetration – Continuation”, was presented at the Stanisław Szukalski Museum in Gdynia. Expanding on the concept introduced in Zakopane, it once again brought together works by the professor, his students, and recipients of the Professor Jacek Żuławski Award, highlighting the continuity of the creative process and the importance of the master–student relationship in shaping new generations of artists.
Duration
Zakopane: March 2026
Gdynia: May 2026
